The three siblings created Flipoutz three years ago when they were still 'Tweens. They were hoping to create cool interactive funwear with an internet component that was fun for kids their age but safe enough to satisfy moms. Flipoutz was born and they haven't looked back!
Jake is a sixth grader but is learning the business fast. His passions are flipoutz, sports, music and acting. At age 7 he appeared in the movie "Talladega Nights - the Ballad of Ricky Bobby" as the young Ricky Bobby. He can currently be seen in Lifetime's "Army Wives" as Lucas Moran. While he has been known to "Eat, Sleep, Play Soccer" to distraction, these days his favorite coins may be "I'm with the band" or "Dance Fever." Lachlan is a high school sophomore. She has earned national recognition for filmmaking and has earned varsity letters in volleyball and soccer. She can often be found modeling (hence the glam pic) or at the rodeo. In fact, after a nasty fall she created the "Cowgirl Up" coin and got right back in the saddle (after the ankle healed)! Erin is currently a high school senior majoring in Musical Theatre at Interlochen Arts Academy in Interlochen, Michigan. She has performed in local theatre since the age of 8 and looks forward to a career on the stage after college. She plays the guitar and piano and enjoys writing songs. Flipoutz is all about safe, meaningful, affordable fun. Created by three sibling "tween-agers," Flipoutz are fun to wear and even cooler to share! Flipoutz is a safe interactive activity designed to capture the joy of sharing, the pride of positive self-expression, and the magic of vicarious travel as kids wear, trade, and track coins held by a colorful bracelet. Kids simply wear a one-of-a-kind bracelet and trade the five expressive coins that the bracelet holds. The coins feature customized artwork and meaningful messages. Flipoutz owners are encouraged to trade, or "flip out," their coins.
But the experience does not stop there. The earthly, face-to-face experience of exchanging tangible coins morphs into a continuous chain of exchanges and travels in both the real and cyber world. Every coin is assigned a unique serial number imprinted on the "flipside" of the coin. Using this serial number, each original coin owner can register the coin on Flipoutz.com and create a safe and customized "Owner Profile" page and a distinctive "Coin Profile" page for each coin. On the Coin Profile Page owners can name the individual coins, briefly describe what each coin means to them or why it is important, and provide a meaningful message for all future holders of the coin to discover. Then kids trade the coins and set them free to travel the world - like a message in a bottle or a note tied to a balloon. The fun expands exponentially with each successive trade or "flip" as kids track their coins and collect friends along the way!
